Connect Claude or ChatGPT to your store's data
Click Context exposes your behavioral data through a native MCP server. Connecting an assistant takes about three minutes and works the same way in every MCP client.
1. Generate your MCP URL
In the Click Context dashboard, open the Connect to Claude panel and click Generate MCP URL. This creates a tokenized endpoint scoped to your store. The token is sensitive — treat it like an API key.
2. Add the server to your client
- Claude (web): paste the URL into the connectors panel in settings.
- Claude Desktop: open
Settings → Developer → Edit Configand add a server entry pointing at your MCP URL. - Claude Code:
claude mcp addwith your URL — the worked example lives in Claude Code MCP setup for Shopify. - ChatGPT / Cursor / other MCP clients:same shape — server name, URL, optional auth header — in each client's connector or
mcp.jsonsettings.
3. Ask a first question
Open a new conversation and ask something concrete: "Look at the last 30 days on my store. Which product page loses the most sessions before add-to-cart, and what do those sessions do instead?" The assistant discovers the available tools, calls the right ones, and answers from your actual data.

Frequently asked
Which AI assistants work with Click Context?
Any MCP-compatible client: Claude (web and desktop), Claude Code, ChatGPT with connector support, Cursor, Continue, and others. MCP — the Model Context Protocol — is an open standard, so the list keeps growing without Click Context shipping anything new.
Is the MCP connection secure?
The endpoint is tokenized and scoped to your store — the token works like an API key, so treat it that way: don't paste it into shared documents, and regenerate it if it leaks. The connection runs over HTTPS.
Does the AI see customer personal data?
The MCP tools serve aggregated behavioral and commerce analytics — funnels, heatmap data, session patterns, product performance. Capture itself honors the Shopify Customer Privacy API, and data is EU-hosted. See the privacy policy for full handling details.
Are there request limits on the MCP server?
No daily request caps on any plan — analysis sessions with an AI involve dozens of tool calls, and capping them defeats the purpose. (This is a deliberate contrast to Microsoft Clarity's MCP server, which allows roughly 10 requests per day.) Plans differ by monthly session volume captured, not by MCP usage.
