Getting started with Click Context
From App Store install to flowing data in one click — and what exactly gets captured on your store's behalf.
1. Install from the Shopify App Store
Install Click Context from the Shopify App Store and approve the requested permissions. That's the whole install: no theme edits, no Google Tag Manager, no manual tagging. The behavior script (under 20 KB) starts automatically, and Shopify's customer events and order webhooks begin flowing server-side.
2. Verify data is flowing
Open the Click Context dashboard from your Shopify admin. Once visitors hit the store you'll see sessions arriving. If your store has consent banners, note that capture honors the Shopify Customer Privacy API — visitors who decline tracking are not captured, which is the point.
3. Understand what gets captured
- On-page behavior: clicks, scroll depth, hesitation, rage clicks — captured by the lightweight script.
- Funnel steps:product views, add-to-carts, checkout steps through completion — from Shopify's customer events, which work inside checkout where third-party scripts can't run. Background in server-side tracking for Shopify.
- Commerce context: the product, variant, cart contents, and order attached to each event — the layer that makes revenue correlation a query instead of a project.
