Connect Claude
Claude connects over OAuth. You paste one URL, Claude discovers the rest by itself, and a six-digit code proves you own the store. Works on claude.ai and in the desktop app.
Open the connector dialog
In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
Paste the server URL
https://app.clickcontext.com/api/mcp/sse
Press Connect. Claude reads the server's OAuth metadata, registers itself, and opens a Click Context page asking for a code.
This URL is Claude-only
Every other client uses
https://app.clickcontext.com/api/mcp/mcp. Claude negotiates the transport itself; clients that take a URL literally will hang on the handshake if you give them this one.Enter your connection code
In your Shopify admin, open Apps → Click Context and press Generate connection code on the setup tab. Type the six digits into the page Claude opened.
Codes are single-use and expire after ten minutes. If yours lapses, generate a fresh one — there is no limit on how many you make.
Ask something
Claude now lists Click Context under its connectors. Start a new conversation and ask a real question:
Give me a CRO audit of my store for the last 30 days.Is one device silently broken?
What Claude receives on connect
At handshake the server sends an instruction set alongside the tool list. It tells Claude how to run the analysis: rank findings by money, split every store-wide number by device before quoting it, apply sample-size gates, and say which figures are proven versus inferred. You do not have to prompt any of that. It is documented in Getting good answers.
Claude also sees 21 playbooks as MCP resources, which it can load when your question matches one.
When it does not connect
- “Could not connect” straight away — check the URL ends in
/api/mcp/sse, not/mcpand not your store domain. - The code page rejects the code — it has expired or was already used. Generate a new one and enter it within ten minutes.
- Connected, but every tool returns nothing — the connection is fine and the date window is the problem. See Troubleshooting.
